Koala Woman Says
Look at the discrepancy between AKF and government figures, and who is right? The huge range of 55-10,000 is totally meaningless and has no scientific merit. Where did they get these figures? It’s not even a guess. The member needs to question the Federal Minister for the Environment on how this range was obtained. We know there are a few Koalas around Swan Hill, Edenhope, Stawell and Maryborough, we also know that Koalas have disappeared from the northern Grampians, again because of fire, and drought.

The Victorian Government opposed the protection of the koala and there is no Federal protective legislation in place.
