Koala Woman Says

This electorate extends from Lithgow to Orange and Manildra, very productive farming land, unfortunately this means trees, and Koalas, are scattered through this landscape. There are some notable populations in the eastern and central areas, e.g., in forests east of Oberon, in the western Blue Mountains, south of Bathurst, and east of Gulgong. The Blue Mountains and Oberon Koalas were severely affected by the 2019-2020 bushfires. There have been over 150 sightings reported around of Bathurst since 2020, mostly on farmland with scattered trees which make Koalas much easier to spot. There was a much smaller population in Goobang National Park to the west (near Parkes) but these seem to have disappeared.

Look at the discrepancy between our figures and our Government’s. And look at the range in the Government’s numbers! Total guesswork.
