Get ready to fall in love with Muffy, whose fluffy ears have earned her the endearing nickname ‘Fluffy Muffy’.
But there’s more to Muffy than just those striking earmuffs– she’s a true ‘Buddha of the bush’, known for her loving nature, penchant for meditation (well, contemplative tree lounging), and her care of all creatures, great and small.
As a Zen master, Muffy spends her days in tranquil treetop lounging, where she contemplates the mysteries of Koala life and enjoys some quality ‘me’ time. She’s a leaf connoisseur, munching on any eucalyptus leaves that come her way, and knows exactly which trees bear the tastiest foliage. Muffy is often found basking in warm sunny spots, reflecting upon the beauty of her natural surroundings.
While having human neighbours near the reserve is wonderful, it does come with some fatal risks for Muffy and her fellow Koalas. Unfortunately, the proximity of people brings about two significant threats. Each year, more than 4,000 Koalas, just like Muffy, lose their lives due to encounters with local dogs, and collisions with cars while trying to cross main roads.
Muffy is a wild Koala and represents all Koalas living free in the bush today. By symbolically adopting Muffy, you’re not only helping this adorable ball of fluff but also supporting the entire wild Koala community. Your monthly donation plays a crucial role in the ongoing conservation efforts that strive to protect these Koala families and their habitats. Through your support, we can ensure that Muffy and her bush-bound buddies can continue to peacefully mediate and inhabit the Australian bush.
When you adopt a Koala, you receive a beautiful personalised adoption certificate with a photo of your Koala, a welcome letter, Koala stickers, and more. And if you are in the area you can drop in and visit the adorable Koala you adopted! *(Cost of Koala adoption does not include park admission fees).
*We cannot guarantee however, that the adopted Koala will be available for viewing on the day so it is always best to contact the zoo or park prior to your visit to avoid disappointment.
Please note: Koalas are not pets. This is a symbolic Koala adoption, or a ‘foster’ program. Your monthly donation, which is a twelve month commitment, goes towards the work of helping save Koalas in the wild; so by adopting one of these gorgeous Koalas, you will be helping their less fortunate wild cousins! The Adopt a Koala program is not tax deductable and is a twelve month program.
