With a personality as big as his nose, Big Al runs his side of the forest with brazen confidence. Lucky for him he’s lovingly devoted to two females with bubs, who keep him smartly in line.
Big Al is one bold and cheeky Koala. He’s the first to explore a new branch, investigate a rustling sound, or attempt daring climbs. But his confidence isn’t just a show: it’s a reflection of his profound understanding of the environment and the land he proudly calls home.
But beneath his cheeky exterior, lies a heart brimming with care. Big Al nurtures his realm with a sense of responsibility that extends to the well-being of his companions and the preservation of his environment. He’s not just king Koala; he’s a family Koala.
Resilience is the cornerstone of Big Al’s personality. Unfortunately, the proximity of people to his habitat poses two significant threats. Each year, more than 4,000 Koalas lose their lives due to encounters with local dogs, and collisions with cars when attempting to cross main roads.
Big Al is a wild Koala and represents all Koalas living free in the bush today. By symbolically adopting Big Al, you’re not only helping this fluffy king, but also supporting the entire wild Koala community. Your monthly donation plays a crucial role in the ongoing conservation efforts that strive to protect these Koala families and their habitats. Through your support, we can ensure that Big Al and his family continue to peacefully inhabit the Australian bush.
When you adopt a Koala, you receive a beautiful personalised adoption certificate with a photo of your Koala, a welcome letter, Koala stickers, and more. And if you are in the area you can drop in and visit the adorable Koala you adopted! *(Cost of Koala adoption does not include park admission fees).
*We cannot guarantee however, that the adopted Koala will be available for viewing on the day so it is always best to contact the zoo or park prior to your visit to avoid disappointment.
Please note: Koalas are not pets. This is a symbolic Koala adoption, or a ‘foster’ program. Your monthly donation, which is a twelve month commitment, goes towards the work of helping save Koalas in the wild; so by adopting one of these gorgeous Koalas, you will be helping their less fortunate wild cousins! The Adopt a Koala program is not tax deductable and is a twelve month program.
