Koala Woman Says
This electorate includes some of the Adelaide Hills at Teatree Gully but is mostly residential development from Gepps Cross to Greenwith, beyond that is a mainly rural area with an occasional patchwork of fragmented woodland. There are not many Koalas in this electorate. There are proportionately many more sightings in the suburbs, why might this be? You might say “because there are more people to do the reporting”. Nature is rarely that simple. Is it because the soils are better and the trees have more access to water? That’s possible too. In any case, there were only 6 sightings in 2023.
