Koala Woman Says
Koalas appear to have been widespread over the western half of this electorate up until 20 years ago, but between 2015 – 2020 there were only four records, all along the Yarra River on the southern boundary of this electorate, e.g., at North Warrandyte. It would be great to hear if we are wrong about this and we would like to hear from the community if they know of secure koala populations. Given the amount of habitat there probably is a chance of recovery, but you have to ask the question, with so much habitat, why are there so few Koalas? I truly think hobby farmers and tree changers in this area could work together and perhaps even invest in Koala Kiss Project. If that habitat is still there, then we could change the future for the Koalas.
