Koala Woman Says

There have been a few isolated sightings in the St Georges Basin area and west of Nowra in the last few years. AKF has said that if there is ever a wildfire here (as there was in 2002 which burnt over 60,000 hectares), there is nowhere for these Koalas to go. Well, that happened in the summer of 2019 – 2020 and nearly all the bush was burnt in this electorate. The main population appears to be on the edge of the southern highlands east of Marulan but recent surveys indicate most of these Koalas escaped the fires.
