Koala Woman Says

This area was first settled in the 1850s. The fur trade probably decimated koalas in this region but little historical data is available. Urbanisation began in earnest in the 1950s and now of course this is outer-city Melbourne with less 2.1% of original habitat remaining. No Koalas have been reported since 1965.
