Chifley

Koala Woman Says

The southern part of this electorate includes Rooty Hill, first settled in 1803. Schofields further north was settled in the 1850s and was a source of timber until at least the 1880s when the area began to be subdivided for housing. Now it is the main housing development corridor for Sydney. The data we have shows that the last 2 koalas were seen in 1990 at Tregear, and in 2006 at some woodland in Riverstone which has now been all but cleared.
