KOALA WOMAN SAYS

Calare’s area has increased at the expense of the Parkes electorate and now takes in Mudgee and Wellington as well as the Rylstone area from Hunter. Look at the discrepancy between our figures and our Government's. And look at the range in the Government’s numbers! Total guesswork.

There have been about 100 sightings reported around of Bathurst in the last 10 years, mostly on farmland with scattered trees which make Koalas much easier to spot. There appears to be a much smaller population in Goobang National Park to the west (near Parkes), a few around Lithgow in the east and a few around Oberon in the south. Koalas are also scattered south of Mudgee but there are none near Rystone.
