In Memoriam of Karen Morse, Wantagh, New York, USA

In November 2006, we received an email from Jordan, Alida & Pearl Camp in USA, wishing to donate thier cousin & niece Karen’s koala collection to us, and asking us if we wanted it.  We said we would be honoured.  Eight months later the collection of over 200 koala arrived and were settled in to their new home in Australia.

Alida said about Karen: “Karen loved animals. Her goldfish lived longer than any I have ever heard of. She enjoyed reading about animals. She was extremely kind, loyal and generous. Karen also loved children. She was wonderful with my own children. She contributed to a wide variety of charities. Karen lived in Wantagh, New York, which is a town on Long Island, a suburb of New York City. She had a Masters Degree in Psychology and worked as an executive assistant at a major advertising agency based in New  York with offices around the world. She died at age 57”.

We would like to thank Jordan & Alida, and their mother Mrs Pearl Camp, for entrusting Karen’s collection to us.  Karen’s koalas are displayed in our office for all to enjoy.

The collection includes music boxes, plush toys, teapots, original drawings & paintings, cookie jar, plates, books, china, pottery, goebels, plaques, badges, stamps, decorations, mirrors, t-shirts, cups and more.

Thank you for trusting the Australian Koala Foundation to look after this collection. We are honoured.
